Submission of Manuscripts
	Manuscripts sent to Boston BioEdit need to be completed by the authors and created with Microsoft Word® or Word Perfect®. The text content needs to be single sided, double spaced 12 point type using a standard font. This format allows us to edit the work efficiently and promptly and calculate our pricing (see below). It is not essential to send data figures with your manuscripts but we advise all of our clients to do so. The fastest and most effective way of sending and receiving documents is electronically as an email attachment to: editor@bostonbioedit.com. Please submit email attachments either as Word documents or as PDF files. In addition, a submission form must be included with each manuscript. For email submission please complete the Word version of this form and include it as an additional attachment with your documents. A PDF version of this form is also available below. 	Notice of new pricing arrangements for Japanese customers: Please note that from May 15^th 2008, we will begin to adopt a regionally based pricing system that reflects the structure of our business operations. All clients in Japan will be billed in Yen only at a flat rate from this date. Volatile currency fluctuations will otherwise make our long term operations unsustainable. Customers in Europe will be billed in Euro only at a future date to be announced. Clients from other countries outside of the US will be notified in due course of the billing arrangements that will apply. In the interim, a flat US dollar rate will continue to operate outside of Japan. The new fixed Yen rates that will be applied from May 15^th for Japanese customers are as follows: ACADEMIC RATES: ¥2600.00 per 300 words of text, ¥2500.00 processing fee (standard service 5-7 day turnaround) ¥3900.00 per 300 words, ¥2500.00 processing fee (express service 48 hours) Reediting rate of ¥6600 per hour (standard) or ¥9900 per hour (express) plus a ¥2500.00 processing fee. INDUSTRY RATES: ¥4000.00 per 300 words of text and a 5% processing charge for the standard service (5-7 day turnaround) ¥6000.00 per 300 words and a 5% processing charge for the express service (48 hours) Reediting rate of ¥10,000.00 per hour (standard) and ¥15,000.00 per hour (express) and a 5% processing charge. 	For academic scientists we charge a handling fee of US$20 per manuscript to cover all processing costs. We will then charge US$22.00 per 300 words of text for editing and proofreading. The bibliography is not included in the total word count. We also offer an express service (48h) which, if required, will be charged at US$30.00 per 300 words. Clients may choose to pay in Japanese Yen, which will be calculated from the published exchange rates at the time of completion of the work. Payments in either US dollars or Japanese Yen can be remitted through our US bank or through the bank of our Japanese affiliate - Sasajima International. Payment can also be made by Check or Money Order in US dollars payable to "Boston Bioedit" or by credit card via Paypal.com to our account. All payment instructions will be sent with each invoice. We require that payment be received within 30 days of receipt of your edited manuscript. 	Industry Pricing All new industrial clients will receive a special introductory offer of the academic rate for their first submission!
	For industry contracts a handling fee of 5% of the editing fee is applicable per manuscript to cover all processing costs. We will then charge US$50.00 per 300 words of text for editing and proofreading. The bibliography is not included in the total word count and an invoice will also be included with the returned manuscript. The normal turnaround time is 5 days but we also offer an express service (48h) which, if required, will be charged at US$75.00 per 300 words. Clients may choose to pay in Japanese Yen, which will be calculated from the published exchange rates at the time of completion of the work. Payments in either US dollars or Japanese Yen can be remitted through our US bank or through the bank of our Japanese affiliate, Sasajima International. Details will be sent with each invoice.
